Take into account Islamic teachings and contemporary requirements and develop the feeling of self-reliance and self-independence in them. The literal meaning of self-reliance and self-independence is having confidence in oneself and to become self-sufficient. It includes knowing one's abilities, realizing them and relying on one's strength and power. Self-confidence and self-reliance are the names of the best attribute. Confidence is very important for anyone who wants to do great things. Self-confidence is the attribute and ambition of a human being which makes it possible for a human being to achieve great goals. Self-confidence and self-reliance create confidence and hope in a person by removing his fears and doubts. It illuminates the possibilities of human effort, struggle and success, which paves the way for success. Among the morals and qualities that Islam advises a person to adopt, determination and courage, self-confidence and self-reliance are at the top. Islam forces man to avoid cowardice and hopelessness and to take action and trust in Allah Almighty. Allah says in the Holy Quran:
فَإِذَا عَزَمْتَ فَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللَّهِ
Translation:
"Once you have taken a decision, place your trust in Allah." (Surah Al-Imran: 159).
Allah Almighty has mentioned the attributes of people of knowledge in the Holy Quran, one of them is that they trust in Allah. When difficulties come upon the people of faith, they do not lack courage, they do not fear anyone other than Allah. Rather, they face difficulties with courage and confidence and trust in their Lord. The Holy Prophet has taught us self-reliance and self-confidence. His life was the supreme example of self-confidence and self-reliance. The Messenger of Allah faced numerous difficulties and sufferings, but even the biggest obstacle could not destroy his determination and self-confidence and could not turn him away from his goal. He did not give up even in the most difficult situations and bravely faced all the difficulties by believing in himself. Whether it was the Battle of Badr or Uhud, battle of Trench or Hunain, he stood firm in the battles and faced the enemies with courage, bravery and self-reliance as a result of which Allah granted him victory and triumph.
We see the individual and collective life of the Holy Prophet himself, full of self-confidence and self-reliance. The result is that the Prophet's 53-year-old Makki and ten-year- old Madani life's every moment is full of self-confidence and self-reliance. In the general perspective, when the element of self-confidence in ordinary people is examined, this sacred element seems to be involved in negative emotions like arrogance in some personalities. But in the Holy Prophet's self-confidence, the aspect of humility and modesty is visible. On the occasion of the conquest of Makkah, the condition was that he Qaswa (his camel) and his head was bowed and a black turban was remained same.
Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique was on one side of the Holy Prophet and on the other side was Asyad Bin Huzair and he was surrounded by all the people around him. Seeing the glory of the army, Abu Sufyan said to Hazrat Abbas (L), "O Abbas! Your nephew has become a king now." Hazrat Abbas replied, O Abu Sufyan, this is no kingship, but Prophethood. Despite the majesty and glory of this royal army, the modesty of the Holy Prophet was at such a state that he bowed his head so much while reciting Surah Al-Fatiha that his head touched the camel's hump. If self-confidence and self-reliance is free from negative emotions like arrogance and pride and full of positive thoughts, then a person is successful at every step. He is valued and such a person becomes a role model for people. The Holy Prophet told the Companions may Allah be pleased with them) that even in the toughest hours of life, one should never look for help towards others rather they should trust their own abilities and trust in Allah Almighty. Allah Almighty will show the way out of these difficulties. The Prophet called a beggar and taught him to rely on hard work and self-reliance, sold his goods and encouraged him to earn livelihood through hard work and efforts. Sometimes in life we face difficulties and financial constraints. There is a loss in business. We should act independently on such occasions and try to get out of difficulties by trusting in Allah. We should do our best and make hard work and struggle our motto so that we can reach the destination of success.
